What better way to start a cold winter morning..
..than with a big warm bowl of mince pie flavoured porridge! šš
This baby friendly fruit mincemeat has no alcohol or added sugar. Keep in a tub in the fridge for approximately 3 days to be used in other festive bakes.

Ingredients
2 apples, grated
1 cup mixed dried fruit (sultanas, raisins, currants)
1 orange
1/4 cup water
1 tsp mixed spice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup porridge oats
1.5 cups milk
Method
-Grate the apples and zest the orange
-Add the mixed dried fruit, the juice from the orange, the water and the spices to the apple and zest
-Transfer the mixture to a saucepan then cook over medium heat until all the fruit is soft & plumped up (add another splash of water if needed!) and your whole kitchen smells like Christmas ā¤ļø
-In a separate pan add the porridge oats and milk of your choice
-Add 3 heaped tablespoons of the fruit mincemeat, then cook the porridge, stirring frequently
-Serve once the porridge is thick and creamy
-OPTIONAL: top with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon or a little pastry star š
