Mince Pie Porridge

What better way to start a cold winter morning than with a big warm bowl of mince pie flavoured porridge! 😍🎄

This baby friendly fruit mincemeat has no alcohol or added sugar. It can be kept in a tub in the fridge for approximately 3 days to be used in other festive bakes.

👶🏻Suitable from 12 months

🌱Can be made suitable for vegans

Ingredients:

2 apples, grated

1 cup mixed dried fruit (sultanas, raisins, currants)

1 orange

1/4 cup water

1 tsp mixed spice

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup porridge oats

1.5 cups milk

Method:

-Grate the apples and zest the orange

-Add the mixed dried fruit, the juice from the orange, the water and the spices to the apple and zest

-Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium heat until all the fruit is soft & plumped up (add another splash of water if needed!) and your whole kitchen smells like Christmas ❤️

-In a separate pan add the porridge oats and milk of your choice

-Add 3 heaped tablespoons of the fruit mincemeat and cook the porridge, stirring frequently

-Once the porridge is thick and creamy it’s ready to be served
